The Complete MBA Scholarship Guide for Women

mba-scholarships-women-guideIn recent years, women have gained interest in acquiring an MBA Degree. In 2012-13, the average percentage of women who have earned an MBA degree in the U.S. was around 36.5%1. This percentage is in line with the numbers of female applicants who took GMAC tests world-wide in 20142.  Harvard and Wharton Business Schools have nearly 42%3 of women enrolling in their MBA programs. MIT’s Sloan Business reports the highest number of women ever enrolling into their program in 20144. What is certainly clear is that more women will be needed to fill leadership positions in the future5.

The Forte Foundation is at the forefront of promoting women’s role in business and supporting women taking up MBAs. They sponsor the Forte Fellows Program – an extensive MBA scholarship program for women, with nearly fifty schools participating, including 9 out of the top 10 of the top Global MBA programs on FT’s 20156 list. Some business schools have set up special recruitment programs and career advice programs targeted to women.  The Kellogg School of Management hosts an annual Women’s Leadership Workshop, as does Columbia Business School the Women Matter conference, Chicago’s Booth the Women Connect, London Business School the Women in Business conference,   all recruiting events for prospective MBA applicants.

In this reference guide, we’ll try to list a sampling of available MBA scholarships for women offered by universities, organizations, private sector and the government.
